Forced to appear on this flattening biosphere Surrounded by billions of souls None of which can ever be known Forced to fade out Forced to let go King Kong lives in everything you know Fly into a rage And I lose control Everybody’s got a little monkey in their soul Rigging breaks as the transplant starts There’s still success with the seven million dollar heart Shared plasma pumping Breathing each other in Under the same moon… then There’s no stopping! Breaking out There’s no stopping! Hiding out In the woods of Tennessee Cleaning wounds and smiling When the aerial fumigation gets all it can get They run away with a full cargo net Rainbows while drowning Rainbows down the drain King Kong lives in everything you know Morbid food chute Too cramped a tube to give birth in Depression diet of crocodiles There’s plenty of gloom under the same moon Buried neck deep as the canyon rains down Rednecks split in half and partially devoured Separation of face and mask Labor was a bloodbath The child: a wonder The heart’s program wasn’t set to last another day Tears of the royal family - Tears of the apes King Kong lives in everything you know

The flesh is shrinking in the cold It splits as it tightens around the bone Every day is a widening wound Devolving into emotionless memory Freed of the vampiric construct Frigid ghost energies have enough For the time being, there will be no warming Every day is a widening wound The mouse drills straight into the skull A horned heart transmitting Ectoplasm seeping out of invisible holes The mouse drills straight into the skull Every day is a widening wound Smoke figures balanced keenly within the drone Protrusion of forest systems Balanced keenly within the drone Belching into daylight Landscape Balanced keenly within the drone Every day is a widening wound

Bullied to bed by boogerheads That punk’s in the trunk of a limousine Drinking from a can of kerosene Hiss like a snake Let em know you’re awake Can never be smarter than surroundings I’m fairly sure… Everything here sounds like the man you’re working for Working for Rotting away in these plastic confines Seeping through the failed membrane All the time All of life is waiting in this withering world Nothing inside the cage will guide you out the door
4.
Holdover from reality’s wishlist Trees blur beyond the screens This is my entire life Undreamed Holdover from reality’s wishlist HOLD HOLD HOLD I oughta leave the scabs on my head alone Float me away On petroleum waves City of fire City of decay Gave it everything Gave it everything Gave it all away Electroplated Cleaned with chemical spray Resolved in perfect nothing Broken brutal hands twisted in defense Cars flattened Tied up in nets Thornless Thornless Resolved in perfect nothing Deinterlaced Petroleum waves

Instead of meeting someone Experience the neonatal substrate Of their lives Feel how they were trapped when they were young See what went on You wouldn’t hear specifics But something like this… (horrible sound) Every scare would be right there at your core Every scar marking deeper than before Every scar marking deeper than skin Reminders of the children within What if everyone you met Exploded into an undeniable experience Instead of someone you could forget? What if no one was an advertisement? Imagine that

When I interrupt that electromagnetic field I’m reminded that I’m here Then I start to feel Then I start to heal

He plays strange guitar Who knows how he got that far? And he goes doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo Sweating and losing sanity In the cube right next to me I almost got that way Then I remembered my name Kicked the wall the shame He’s telling me about an alien in the toilet Lovers and a dog and a clog he met Oh to be onion trash on his floor again… He’s Talon Ted He’ll shred you up (Like a bird of prey)
11.
Scamerica 02:21
Glassturbating all day and feeling BAD Scamerica is all I ever had If you don’t know what I mean I won’t explain it It’s better for me to refrain And just name it Scamerica! Scamerica! Run by chumps Scamerica! Scamerica! Scamerica! Pump and dump Scamerica! Brutal, harsh Scamerica They’re doing big things with your name Training a brain to drive you insane And make you fucking tame HEY! Think this is coming to a finish? This so-called “capitalism”? This is only the beginning in… Take your hat off your head (Humans are) Put your hand on your heart (Innate) Pull the wool over your eyes (Music snobs) It’s a shame to face such brutal lies It’s a pain to be so brutalized in… Repercussions of theft get softer with station Scamerica’s rule of law: bleed the peasants Where nothing accepts you quite like paper and a toilet This is as good as it gets when you’re toiling in…

Taught a rock to think now we’re on the brink Taught a rock a song that’s where we went wrong Every punctuation is backlit Every quiet moment a scream Wherever eyes fall they’re sold shit The grift infects dreams Born into this Trained to be useless There’s no interstitial peace From thing to shining thing From thing to blinking thing There’s no interstitial peace Boiled alive Starved to death In this technocratic apocalypse That wheel's still going around Should I just unplug the son of a bitch Or should I just leave it running?
13.
Hope in one hand and shit in the other See which one fills up faster Calls to mind the recent trick To get rich quick By creating solutions to problems that don’t exist Well the nut’s not here…anyway

La Brea 04:27
Stepped into water… Well I don’t know The suction is too much It won’t let go The howling is coming for me Maybe I can bring a few down As my family on the shoreline Watches me drown Suicide by opportunism The house always wins Hundreds of glowing skulls Suspended A lake of tar that never gets thinner The American dream to be seen And fossilized Meat for ravenous eyes For all time Die on display In the surveillance state La Brea Some are winners, some are easy dinners La Brea

about

"King Kong lives in everything you know"

The story of King Kong Lives is about the obstinance of life over death. Despite mankind's compulsion to fill all libraries with death-related materials, we remain less than novices of the death experience as long as we live. We only know about the obstinance of life. Terry Turtle used to get in a paranoid way and say things like "I heard those people over there saying I look like King Kong". Buck Gooter keeps Terry Turtle's music alive, at his request, by sampling him in all new songs and playing his music for people on whatever stages we can find. King Kong lives in everything you know.

King Kong Lives: Thereminsanity is an album that began as an amalgamation of solo recordings and a few jam documents with my band members Alethea Leventhal and Billy Hunt in my studio in Charlottesville, VA. Terry Turtle’s contributions were culled from the last guitar recordings he ever made in the studio, various voicemails he left me, and a chorus from an unreleased song he wrote in the early 90s, which you can hear on the title track. Terry appears on every song. Cordey Lopez helped to finalize the record in Los Angeles in April 2024.
