True Story:

And guess what? We shot that pose real quick during their private formals, and it ended up being her one of her favorite photos of the two of them from their wedding day.

We absolutely loved Lexie and Jason's Palm Springs glam wedding: it was clearly well-designed and executed, with gold-shimmery dresses and various shades of pink for the floral, and the reception atmosphere was beautifully pin-spired (and simple and romantic: our favorite!). The gold and pink color palette just made our hearts go pitter-patter!

Justin + Alexis' wedding was absolutely stunning – easily one of our favorite looks this entire year! Everything was centered around love birds, organic and earthy, with a touch of Bohemian Glam.

What do all three of these weddings have in common?

• Pin what you love about weddings you find on there, and be sure to write in the caption WHY you love the photo (the flowers? the pose? the atmosphere?).

• Be realistic: some DIY stuff can actually cost a lot more than hiring someone else to create it.

• Share the board with anyone helping you plan your wedding – your best friend, your mom, and your visual vendors: planner, coordinator, florist, cake designer, photographer, etc.

• Periodically go through and remove non-relevant ideas, especially when you really hone in on what you're envisioning.

And our final and top tip? We think Lexie said it best:

“The part that I think can get super overwhelming are all the tiny details and ideas to make your wedding more “fun” or “unique” which honestly now are becoming so common that lots of things are not unique at all anymore! And you know what is fun?? Your friends and family! They will have fun no matter what just celebrating you!”

Your wedding will be beautiful – no matter what. As much as we love pretty details, at the end of the day:

it's about your marriage, not the wedding

If you’re a craftista or a DIY enthusiast, then embrace the Pinspiration in creating the wedding if your dreams! However, if you avoid a hot glue gun like the plague, now is not the moment to transition into a crafting bride. It will not end well. Trust me.

[Pro Tip: For every effort you make compiling perfect details spend four times that effort creating a day your guests will love.]

Scrambling to find the right vendors who you can trust to pull off your ideas without breaking the bank?

Or worse, spending your last night before the wedding trying to finish 3 DIY projects you’ve never really had time for… and now you are covered in 3rd degree burns from a hot glue gun, it's 2am and all the wine is gone?!

OR…do you want to spend the time leading up to your wedding a bit happier & more productively, because you are:<

Relaxed knowing your wedding design is a true reflection of you, your love story & style!

Have you ever heard the quote: "Comparison is the thief of joy"?

It’s not a problem confined to Moms though.
People in general have this "comparison" problem.

We compare dogs, houses, decor, clothing, purses, style, behavior, attitudes, meals, cleanliness, hair-styles, vacations, "free-time", work-ethics, tans, number of cups of coffee, cell phones, and landscaping. The list literally goes on and on. Oh, and another category to add to the list? Weddings.

Brides compare their weddings to the weddings of their friends. Parents compare their children’s weddings to the weddings of their friend’s children. Everyone wants something bigger, better, fancier, and more elaborate.

And by "fake" I mean that they’re from styled shoots – wedding vendors who come together and put their best work forward. Then a photographer is given a large amount of stress-free time to photograph the perfectly put together pieces. Models are typically brought in to showcase wedding day fashion & everything is put in the very best light.

Your real life wedding will be more beautiful than any styled shoot because you’ll have what every styled shoot is missing: real, authentic moments with natural emotion. Your Dad tearing up the first time he sees you in your wedding dress. The smiles of your guests as you walk down the aisle. The hugs & kisses of your family as they celebrate with you. Your Mom & Grandma wiping tears as you & your Dad share a Father/Daughter dance. Your husband sweeping you off your feet to carry you out of the reception.

My challenge to you is to determine right now, while your wedding day is still out on the horizon, that no matter what, nothing will steal your joy.
