7 Wedding Anniversary

Every year I write you a letter and think to myself that each year is going to be the hardest yet. How do I put into words the love I have for you? How could I possibly articulate just how much you mean to me in one little letter. The point is, I know I can't, but I'm certainly going to keep trying year after year because you deserve it.

For years before we met, you wrote love letters to your future wife. Getting to be the recipient of those has always been a gift. So while I didn't start writing you near as early, I will continue writing you until we grow old.

You've been my best friend, love, biggest support system, encouragement, and constant joy. Yet, somehow time has flown by, and it's been seven wonderful years! WOW. Let that sink in; it's our 7th wedding anniversary. Our 7th wedding anniversary…

(A fun little throwback for you! Our engagement photos, 1st anniversary, and 2nd anniversary!)

When I think back on it, we were babies when we met. College felt like we were such “adults.” Then we got married and found out we had no clue. I'm so thankful for those two college kids who decided to follow God's call on our hearts to get married. It may have seemed crazy to so many people, but it's the best decision we could have made.

Getting to grow up with you in so many ways has been the best part of marriage. I've watched you grow into the man God has called you to be, and it's been such an honor. I was proud of the guy you were back then, but man, am I proud of you now! You're the best provider and leader in our marriage. You're such a strong, supportive, encouraging man.

I love you big, Alec Dixon.

Marriage has been so much sweeter than I ever could have prayed for. That's thanks to you! Your commitment to communicate, grow together, and be your very best bless our marriage constantly. Saying it's been seven years feels so surreal. It feels like we've been together so much longer! So much has happened, from us building our first house to finally being able to travel together as we've dreamed of.

7 Wedding Anniversary

No matter what life has thrown at us, you've been the strong, confident leader of our family. When things get hard, you dig in deeper, offering more grace, more compassion, and more love than I ever could have imagined. At the same time, you always keep us hopeful and our home full of laughter. I love how playful, fun, and hilarious you are! You keep life so fun!

You're the best husband I ever could have asked for and so much more. All I can say is “thank you.” Thank you for choosing me again and again, for loving me, and for genuinely being the best man I know. I pray that year seven is full of incredible things for us: more Sonic runs, antiquing, traveling, and laughter!

Happy 7th wedding anniversary, my handsome man! I can't wait to see what the next year holds for our marriage! No matter what it is, getting to experience it all with you will be the best.

I'll love you always, my sweet man,

Katie

Celebrating 7th Wedding Anniversary

We started with a 2-hour long brunch. We normally don’t do that with Avyan. Parents with toddlers can understand the reason. But yesterday’s buffet menu looked nice and we thought what better day to relax and take time to eat. So, we took a chance and indulged! We tried oysters for the first time and Arvind tried sushi for the first time. Meanwhile, Avyan was getting expert with chopsticks. He was nibbling most of the time and even managed to maintain table manners with napkin on his lap. Super cute.

Dessert was obviously his favorite part and ours too, followed by more cheers!

After that excess eating, we wished that we could just take a nap. But instead, we strolled around in a few spots. Every time we stopped, Avyan would get impatient to get out because he wanted to watch the ocean. He loved it.

When we visited Goa last year, we had to carry him around, as he wouldn’t walk on the sand, even with shoes on. So, you can imagine our excitement when we saw him running around on the beach. Now, I am so looking forward to some beach-time in summer. And I hope that he would enjoy it as much without his shoes on. Fingers crossed!
