I really don't understand all this magic potion no contact.
If you can convince me why you think its okay to stay friends to catch up and yet, cant even do that without no contact this and no speaking and just catch up.
Talk normally. Stop sabotaging the talks. You're being weird. Everything you say is a reinforcement of the break up. It's woven into every conversation.

So should we agree to no contact until Thursday and 12 noon?

Question. How salvageable was this relationship? How could it be fixed. Is there any hope? Or do you just don't care and are doing everything you can to walk away.

What did her little sister ever do to you? You're not calling your Ex and asking her to convey a happy Birthday to her little sister on your behalf.
Personally, I would just send her a text wishing her a Happy Birthday and leave it at that. I don't think anyone will draw anything from a simple "Happy Birthday" text. And if they do, that's their problem not yours.
